ValorTech

Research undertaken at the Valortech ERA Chair is focusing on the following objectives:

​

- minimizing wastes and enhancing the effective utilization of by-products generated in the agri-food industrial sector

- optimizing the use of novel agri-food processing technologies 

- generating innovative ways to  identify the functional ingredients of for plant and animal based by-products (bioactive compounds, phytochemicals and their activities) and for isolating natural composites (natural colorants, flavourants)

- finding practical applications as well as value addition for plant and animal based by-products.

 

The end goal is to find realistic applications of the generated results for food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industrial applications.
